More than half of one million Android phones are activated everyday
It has reached a new record of 550.000 phones with Android OS activated every day, said Larry Page, Google’s chief executive officer. This success has been far beyond the expectations by reaching the revenue of over 9 billion USD in the second quarter.
The company's revenue in the recent quarters achieved the growth rate of 36% more than the same period last year. "Google is having the biggest opportunities, because we are just starting to deploy our plans" said Larry Page.
On average, there are 6 Android phones is activated every second, which increases the total number of users to 135 million, according to Larry Page. As estimated, 250.000 applications for Android were released and it has reached the 6 billion times of downloading.
According to the research of ComScore Company, the Android smart phones quoted are leading the market with 38.1% of the market share, which far exceeds Apple’s iPhone (26.1%).
Google recently also achieved many great successes in the aspect of the Internet. 160 million Internet users are using Chrome browser. Although Google+ is released as the limited beta version, this social network attracts more than 10 million members after only 2 weeks.
